Our JumpStart! youth program offers a variety of after-school, Saturday and summer activities for school age children ages 5-21 that experience intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. This Program focuses on teaching communication and daily living skills through classroom-based activities and community-based instruction, targeting the development of fine & gross motor skills through dramatic play, sensory stimulation, recreation and community outings.
The Arc Lane County provides the one of the only after school and summer programs specifically designed for school age children that require additional cognitive and behavioral support needs, ranging from mild to significant. Families utilize these services which allows for parents to continue working and actively participate in the community. This program is also vital to the children to give them a “jumpstart” in developing the necessary skills to become more self-sufficient and prepare them to fully integrate into the community, including preparing them for future employment.
Jumpstart! is located in Springfield and operates from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm Monday through Friday, and 7:30 am - 6:00 pm on non-school days. After school care is focused on teaching independence, communication and community living skills through recreational opportunities. Space is limited and often fills up quickly. To register, please fill out the on-line application or contact Kathryn Albert for more information.
The Jumpstart! Saturday program operates September through June on two Saturdays/month and provides additional care and instruction to children that allows for parents to catch up on other weekend priorities. Children will enjoy crafts, games and active play. This is a center-based program that features sensory play, imaginative play and other exciting structured activities. Advance registration is required. To reserve your space please contact Kathryn Albert.
Make this summer an adventurous occasion and explore all the fun that you can create, make, do and play with all of your friends! The program features new themes and field trips every week to some of the most fantastic places in the Eugene/Springfield area. This program is specifically designed for school aged children ages 5-21 that experience complex cognitive, behavioral and medical support needs. Program is Monday – Friday from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. Extended hours available.
Advance registration required and space is limited. Call for more details, or please contact Kathryn Albert to set up an intake meeting and complete the application.
